Dogs are very wonderful house pets and most are very intelligent. Maybe that is why about 169 million dogs are kept as pets in the U.S alone!
Dogs have many useful characteristics. Some dogs are even known for saving people from drowning or from a burning building. Some dogs help police hunt down criminals. Some dogs are also known for guarding and protecting their owners from danger, some dogs play with children to make them happy. And of course all dogs keep you company.
A lot of dogs compete in competitions like obedience or agility. Dogs like Poodles or Bichon Frises are meant to have rules or they will end up being a horribe pet. All dogs need rules to follow otherwise they won't know what to do and do what ever they want.
There are also other amazing pets like horses, they are strong, and hamsters, they are cute, and there is also fish, they are quiet, but a dog can be all that. They can be strong if it is a big dog. Most dogs are adorable, and you can even train them to be quiet. And a lot of dogs are extremely nice. Why there can be dogs that are so nice you can tug on their ear or pull their tail and they won't even care.
There are also many types of dogs in the world that need homes. And as you can see dogs are an incredible animal, but if you are going to get a dog, you must be careful on which type of dog you get. You need to make sure that the dog you pick is a dog that you will love forever because if you are mean to the dog or torture it the dog will be taken away from you or it will run away cause it does not like it's home. That is why i think everybody should have a dog so all dogs can have a nice home and a family that takes care of them and that loves them.

I like your comparison of dogs as the best of many of other animals because its so true. And even though you mentioned horses, hamsters and fish I notice you didn't compare cats as having any traits in common with dogs. I think that is why most people are either dog people or cat people. Unless you take into account Basenji's these are very stately small dogs and although loyal to its master is very aloof (like a cat) to all others.
Keep up the good work and I agree that almost everyone would benefit from having dog as a companion.
